An experiment that started five years ago appears to be working for the International Atheism Alliance although large segments of their membership have been reluctant to submit to Dr. Helen Samuel's innovative PAC program.
    Judging by our latest analysis, Purple People will represent more than 50% of earth's population by the next century.
    PAC, or Pigment Alteration Process , was chosen after years of deliberation by the International Atheists Alliance for a solution that could be the dramatic statement required before Atheism could assert itself as a viable alternative to the various religions that have exerted their influence over our planet for the last 2,500 years.

Purple replaces shades of brown
    Taking a page out of the civil rights movements that took place in US America nearly 75 years ago, Atheists concluded they could only achieve recognition as equal citizens of our world if they could be recognized as a unique and acceptable body of peoples.
    Previous efforts had failed because their non-belief had failed to unify Atheists as a recognizable cohesive group. It is believed that by adopting a colour change, Atheists could maintain their individuality while helping the Atheist cause. Their century's old practice of disguising their non-belief handicapped Atheist efforts to secure changes in education, medicine, science and politics.
    It was concluded that Atheists weren't making headway on any issue of consequence because their opponents could always find enough high profile supporters in Atheist ranks to change sides , usually for considerations. Politicians now find it more difficult to make their point when their audience has a definite "purple tone".
    Unlike other successful revolutions, no one was willing to be martyred. Atheists with proven intellectual prowess were not about to compromise their professional standing by coming ‘Out', as Richard Dawkins suggested back in 2006. His violent death at the hands of a religious fanatic in 2018 was a blow to the Atheist cause, especially since no one stepped forth to take his place.

Could there ever be a Purple President?
    In the 1950s, black people made significant strides in attaining civil rights enjoyed by most other peoples, mainly the white race. Election of Barack Obama to presidency of the United States highlighted their successful fight. Red, yellow and some olive peoples continue to experience racist attacks based on colour in spite of efforts by the Obama administration and those that followed.
    At one time, no one ever thought there would be a black President. Executives of the IAA are certain that it will not be as long before there is a Purple President.

CIP helped make Purple People Program possible
    Recent advances in satellite surveillance provided Purple People with freedoms they never imagined and would have helped the black cause back in the 1950s.
    The CIP program made monitoring by satellite work. CIP, or Chip Identification Program , provided chip implants which broadcast location and identity of the chipped individual to the satellites. Consequently, poor visibility problems associated with older surveillance systems were eliminated.
    Acceptance of the CIP program may have been forced on world citizens, but they soon found that benefits far outweighed negative aspects. Installation of scanners at all retail establishments, churches, sports facilities, transportation locations and on the highways created long line-ups at the chipping stations. Regular worldwide activities came to a halt April 1st, 2020 when chipping was implemented as citizens realized that nothing was possible without getting chipped.
    Any person not "registering" on the scanners would be immediately arrested and have a CIP chip implanted. Since 2020, practically 95% of the world is now covered. The international fear of terrorists and illegal immigration helped overcome objections by various groups, including the NRA, who saw the chips as a violation of their rights.
    They changed their position when it was pointed out that terrorists and aliens were speedily being apprehended and appropriately chipped . Their chips broadcast a warning message when a chipped person strayed from their home nation.
                                        
Convicted violent racists to get orange treatment
    The International Atheist Alliance saw CIP as making the Purple People Project possible as recently passed legislation enabled conviction of people guilty of racist actions. The guilty must submit to the PAC program, only their new colour will be orange The penalty of having to appear orange in public made its opponents stand out in a crowd, more so than the purple people. Small armies of orange hued soldiers still dot the landscape but their effectiveness has been trivialized.
    In order to bolster their ranks in opposition to Atheist advances, several religious groups have made a determined effort to recruit non-believing coloured groups over to their side. As the Mormons had done 75 years before when they admitted coloured people into their priesthood, religious groups have actively recruited coloured members, much to the consternation of diehard church members. Orange tinted pastors were no longer welcome at religious pulpits.
    While Islam was a religion of choice for many American black people during the last half of the 1900s, it fell out of favour in non-Islamic countries because of its continued sexual inequality.
    The only colour that made sense to the IAA was purple. Dr. Samuel was able to adjust PAC so it could accommodate five shades of purple. Her original use of PAC was used almost exclusively in ‘coloured-to-white' applications. She also developed an antidote that reverses these pigmentation changes.

Young adults can reverse colour procedure
    Children of Atheists must join their parents in this pigment change, but they can opt to reverse the procedure when they reach sixteen. They have a year to choose the reversal. After their sixteenth year, they will have to wait until the experiment ends in 2125.
    When asked why she chose purple, Dr. Samuel said, “Blue and green were too stark and had been demonized by science fiction writers for centuries. The other colours of the spectrum had, of course, identified different races for hundreds of thousand years. Also, the colour purple is associated with black civil rights movements for more than 200 years. The IAA hopes they will achieve more – in less time.”
        Atheists hope to achieve similar changes in their status as the black civil rights movement did in the 1950s. If we ever see a Purple President of US America, he would be one of a few to prove they could govern . . . without gods!
