Houston, we have a problem!

“We don't want the rest of the world to know that we have become a haven for Christian pedophiles!”

June 23, 2021 - AP (Atheist Press)

It has been reported that the new country of Texberta is wrestling with a moral problem that they did not foresee. Pedophiles have seriously infiltrated several of the larger Christian congregations.
Clinging to those beliefs that created their country in the first place, some Christians -- especially parents of young children -- are frustrated in attempting to deal with the pedophiles in their midst.
"It has come to the point where you don't know who to trust with our kids," said one parent who must remain nameless. "We sent our child to camp thinking that they would be protected."
This problem is further compounded by relaxation of the rules existing in Canada and US America where teachers and youth leaders must undergo a background check.
"It should be noted that both countries have had their trouble enforcing the law but what is happening in Texberta is horrendous. We are constantly thwarted by complicit leaders who give us glowing reports about an individual," said a spokesman from the Child Protection Agenciy. "As it turned out it was like an old boy's club where one pedophile gave members of his group glowing reports whenever they got an inquiry."
    "It was like
having the chicken coop protected by the fox," said one investigator.
"They seduce the parents with their righteousness and then seduce their kids," said Captain Arnold Brown of the Texberta Police, "and if it wasn't for one of the kids contacting us directly we would have taken a lot longer discovering this problem."
"These kids have been conditioned to talk to their parents first and in these cases, the parents choose to believe the smooth-talking members of their church rather than their own kids," said Brown.
"Its like a plague of locusts," admitted Brother Elijah Smith, "and because they hide behind our religion and our belief that God is the only one to judge, we have to now admit that we have a problem! We do not know how to protect our children!"
“We could use the kind of reporting that Mojoey provided on his Deep Thoughts blog. We insisted he was our enemy because he was an atheist. We just wouldn’t accept that he was really giving a damn about our kids -- all kids! I guess most of all he was protecting them -- from us!” confessed one parent.
Church leaders are attempting to come up with a plan to purge pedophiles from their midst but they appear to be encountering problems as they find that their solutions keep confronting their belief system.

ext Week: More of the Texberta story, but in the meantime, I can assure you I feel fortunate that I learned to live . . . without gods!

Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise.

In no instance have . . . the churches been guardians of the liberties of the people.

My definition of morality . . .

“No one should expose another living entity to unwarranted pain, loss, or deprivation!”

        *Terms and            Definitions
My articles may contain words or phrases that may infer different meanings to different readers, or the reader may be unfamiliar with the term or its definition. I feel it is important to know what the writer meant when he used a word or term.

cognitive dissonance
Filtering out information that conflicts with what one already believes, in an effort to ignore that information and reinforce one’s beliefs.

Editors note: I will be repeating the “cognitive dissonance” definition for quite a while since it is practiced by so many — known by so few!

Grandpa said . . .

“You'll have to catch them in the act and make sure you take a picture because nobody will believe you!”

Later in life I organized a a Boy Scout troop for a local church. I became aware that all was not right with one of the church elders. Nobody would take my allegations seriously. Years later one of his victims came forth. By then he was a young adult and the other church elders had to believe him -- reluctantly. the church excommunited the elder. I wonder how many more kids were made victims while their unbelieving parents and other church leaders did nothing.
I remember these words of wisdom from my Grandfather.  I share them with you.
